How did you get started with photography

I got started with photography when my father gave me my first camera, a little point-and-shoot Kodak digital camera that produced images of a questionable quality. After graduating from high school, I started an arts degree at the University of South Australia and fell in love with working in a darkroom, watching images emerge on the photographic paper in the developing bath. After that, I studied under Mark Kimber learning the ins and outs of studio photography and developed a passion for portraiture.

What do you love about your job?

I love composing photos, looking for light and patterns, for perspective and lines to draw the eye in. But what I most enjoy is the post-processing, playing around in Lightroom or Photoshop to polish the image. The possibilities are endless.

What are some of your favorite places in Adelaide to take photographs?

My favourite place to shoot in Adelaide is anywhere in nature in the early morning or late evening. There's a quality and softness to the light, with its long drawn out shadows, that can be both dramatic and dreamlike. That being said, a good overcast day can be equally as flattering.
