Shelby was formally trained in photography at Towson University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Art + Design. While studying, Shelby found herself being drawn more and more toward using artificial lighting to create a natural-looking image. She often looks for ways to incorporate added light into her images, aiming to create a visually interesting image of a subject, rather than relying on the uniqueness of the subject, alone, to carry the image. Her mastery of artificial light allows her to have complete control over her shoots and over the look of the final product.

Gerry Chase is a lifelong, self-taught photographer. As a child he mimicked his father, and chose to look at the world though his viewfinder camera, and develop the images in his "darkroom in a box". While photography was always a passion, Gerry has a unique professional background that gives him a unique perspective and ability to connect with people. Though the last few years he has used this perspective alongside a continually growing photographic skillset to satisfy an ever-growing group of clients.

How did you get started with photography

I actually started out my career as a video and audio editor. When the media company I worked for decided they wanted to bring their photography work in house I stepped up, took it over and just fell in love with the medium. That was over 8 years ago and the start to my photography career. Since then I've had the privileged of working with hundreds of satisfied clients.

What do you love about your job?

One great part of the job is getting to meet different and interesting people. I love being able to craft exactly what a client wants. Turning the vision in their head into an actual photo is the best feeling for me. Whether it is a for a product or creating a family memory, seeing them happy with the end results is really what it's all about.

What are some of your favorite places in Baltimore to take photographs?

My favorite places in to shoot in Baltimore are the Inner Harbor with its scenic water views and Fell's Point with its historic architecture. I also have a soft spot for several parks in Maryland that offer a little more greenery and nature in the backdrops.
