How did you get started with photography

I began making photographs and videos in high school. I fell in love with photography after my mother showed me a book of Paul Strand's pictures. I also enjoyed how it connected art, science, and story telling. I studied photography for four years in college. After school, I worked in printing, graphic design, and photo retouching. I've been running my own photography and video business for four years.

What do you love about your job?

I love making people light up with joy. From real estate agents who love how I make their property shine to executives who can't believe how good they look, I enjoy bringing happiness to my clients. I also enjoy the medium. There's something freeing for me about being behind a camera or working on images with a computer. It's almost like riding a bicycle: I don't think, I'm just in it.

What are some of your favorite places in Boston to take photographs?

I live 15 miles south of downtown Boston. Here, I use many of the beaches and parks for portraiture. When I'm in town I like to shoot on the Boston Common, the Fort Point Channel, the North End, and Cambridge.
