I started shooting at a young age. Moved to Manhattan at 16 from upstate NY to work as a photographer. All self taught. Photography has always been a great way to catch a moment in time that only exists in that moment. I enjoy the project oriented work and very much like to create a whimsy with my love and use of color.

How did you get started with photography

I got started in photography around fifth grade when I started taking photos with disposable film cameras while hiking. I continued taking landscape photos and portraits until my love for it evolved when I took a dark room film class in high school and chose to pursue photography in college. I began having more thought out concepts for my photos and started taking street photos and documentary/photojournalism photos. In college, I learned how to use professional lighting equipment and began taking commercial photos and studio portraits.

What do you love about your job?

I’ve always been drawn to creating things and helping people. Photography is a mix of these two aspirations. I enjoy combining my technical skills and creative vision to create images that allow people to remember an event and have beautiful pictures of it to show. I also enjoy making images that promote a business's products, place of business, and the people who work for them.

What are some of your favorite places in Philadelphia to take photographs?

My favorite place to shoot in Richmond, VA is Shockoe Bottom. Specifically by the train station and the various outlooks by Taylors Hill Park, Libby Hill Park, and Jefferson Park. They all have beautiful views of the city and have nice locations in them to shoot. 17th Street is also a beautiful place to shoot with many store fronts and cobblestone alleys to shoot near.
