How did you get started with photography

In 2005, I received my Real Estate license and began shooting homes for my listings. In 2009, the Real Estate market crashed and I was determined to find another avenue to fall back on. I decided to reenroll in school and acquired my BA of Arts in Graphic Design in 2012. Prior to graduation, I was hired as the lead Graphic Artist for a national sign company and was reintroduced to taking professional photos. As photography began sinking its roots deeper within my being, I finally decided to create my own business, "Andres Photography."

What do you love about your job?

When taking photos, I'm completely aware of the moment. I know that every single shot is a captured moment in time. I love knowing that I'm freezing an instance, which my customers will always be able to reflect upon and share with all of their friends and family members. In essence, my photos are heirlooms that will be inherited and appreciated for generations, to those who hold and protect my portraits for others to later see and enjoy.

What are some of your favorite places in San Antonio to take photographs?

My favorite places to shoot are normally outdoors. I love to be near the water, so naturally, the ocean is always a perfect spot for shooting. I don't know what it is about the calmness of the sea and it's variety of patterns and movements, but I'm drawn to that environment. I love nature and wildlife. Sunsets too, they captivate me. Whenever I have time, I make an effort to find places to be one with the world around me... it's almost as if the world is my backdrop. Me and my camera, we're just here to capture every moment possible!
