How did you get started with photography

I always loved taking pictures when I was a kid. Landscapes have interested me since early childhood. A good friend of mine encouraged me to buy a DSLR and pursue Architectural Photography when I hurt my back in 2014 so I took the leap and upgraded from my point and shoot to a DSLR.

What do you love about your job?

I love capturing spaces. To me each space is it's own landscape. Whether it is a bedroom, a backyard, or an ocean view, I love finding the symmetry in a space and making that the focus of the image. I always enjoy seeing all the unique properties in San Diego and highlighting their distinct features.

What are some of your favorite places in San Diego to take photographs?

I love shooting the coastline and mountains. The coastline is so diverse, it is beautiful at sunrise and sunset, we have 5 piers in San Diego; all of which I love capturing under a variety of conditions, and from many locations you have urban landscapes that meet with the water's edge creating beautiful reflections on the water. I usually go to the mountains to capture the Galactic Center (spring thru fall) and other astronomical events (sunrises, sunsets, meteor showers, eclipses, etc). I enjoy the solitude I often experience out there and feel so fortunate to live in a county that has such rural areas so close to our very urban city and suburbs.
