How did you get started with photography?

I've always loved looking through film prints as a kid, especially pictures of nature and landscapes. My dad enjoyed photography, and I started out with his 20D while I was still in school. I liked taking pictures of scenery, and was fascinated by the use of natural lighting. That's still true to this day, although my skillset and newer/better technology has changed my approach over the years.

What type of shoots do you enjoy doing the most?

Shooting in natural light is my expertise and I really enjoy shooting in beautiful locations. I also like doing creative shoots where there is a costume or some sort of theme (especially in post-processing).

What are some of your favorite places in San Diego to take photographs?

I like to shoot in a variety of places. The place may depend on the person's taste or persona, too. Some of my favorite places include the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve in Poway, Torrey Pines (north of the glider port), Los Penasquitos Canyon in Mira Mesa, and Lake Hodges in Escondido - just to name a few. Occasionally I will shoot downtown or in Coronado if I'm looking for a more urban setting.
