camera Canon EOS 6D Mark II

Brenton's path to being a photographer started before he was born; his father was a professional photographer his entire life. When growing up, Brenton's ABC's were aperture, bulb timer, and circles of confusion. Though Brenton has been mostly self taught, his father has always been there to offer an opinion, critique, or words of encouragement to help further his studies. Today, the passion Brenton has for photography is greater than it was yesterday, and continues to grow with every sunrise.

Hello, I am a San Francisco Bay Area based Editorial, Portrait, Lifestyle, and Food/Bev Photographer. I have extensive work with commercial - both marketing campaigns and product - as well as food and beverage. I spent a few years in NYC getting my skills honed into the style and fashion from the big apple. Originally, from San Francisco area, I am back to share visual eye with clients & provide best moments for your needs. My passion comes from traveling and capturing moments, things, places I wanted people to see even if they were not there. It became a professional career once I realized I loved sharing my photographs & could turn it into something substantial. and, hey - I was pretty good at it. Highlights of my photography experience and skills: 1. Versatile in working with multiple creative teams and have extensive experience with Art and Creative Directors as well as Marketing executives. 2. Worked with & developed large teams with MUA, assistants, and models. 3. Have expertise in photo editing for clients within Lightroom and Photoshop. Ability to use Indesign as well for layouts and other creative additions to projects. My style is dramatic and bright when needed. I like to complete my shoots with minimal to little need for post processing edits. I use bokeh techniques in my photographs to show/create the emotions, product, and/or feeling. Additionally, I love using both natural and strobe lighting to get the dramatic effects for finished photographs. I like to show up ready to go and with energy to help clients through the process. There is nothing more unnerving for clients than having their business budgets and marketing budgets rely upon my work. Realizing this, I engage frequently and communicate thoroughly with the teams on shoots and projects.

How did you get started with photography

Roughly 9 years ago I first fell in love with photography shooting wildlife with a Nikon D3000 and an 18-250mm kit lens. It was a decent setup and gave me a chance to quickly learn how to use a more advanced camera. Shooting wildlife taught me patience as a photographer, it taught me how to use lighting to my advantage, how to look at things from different points of view, and how every moment can be missed in a blink of an eye. For me, shooting wildlife was photography boot camp.

What do you love about your job?

The greatest part about what I do is seeing the joy in people when the see their images. I love getting to know the client and the type of person he/she/they are and reflecting that personality in photographs. Creating a beautiful image is easy but taking the time to get to know the client and show who they are in an image takes the photo's from beautiful to stunning. As a photographer, when you capture who the client is, there is no greater feeling then seeing the look on their face.

What are some of your favorite places in San Francisco to take photographs?

I have photographed people all over the Bay Area so I don't have a favorite place to shoot but I do have a favorite setting. Simply because of my personality I love shooting in nature whether its the woods, at a lake, in a field, or even a park. To me there is nothing that adds more to an image more than a little greenery.
