Danae Blackburn is a professional photographer in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She specializes in portraits and events, and enjoys all aspects creating meaningful images for her clients. As a designer and calligrapher for many years, her natural creativity and artistic eye influence her vision for each shoot.

My training consisted of taking lots and lots of pictures and using my education in Cinematography (which was my concentration at Boston MFA Film Production '14). I said yes to jobs that I was nervous about but I always said yes. Repeat customers and more and more bookings eased my nervousness going forward and I haven't looked back since. Now I'm looking for fun and challenging shoots!

Michael Matsil’s 25 years as a professional photographer embodies many skills patiently honed from a rich variety of important and well chosen sources. His early professional learning curve was accelerated by assisting pro assignment photographers at every level of the workflow. Working day in and day out for the local guys and gals soon transformed into working with some world renowned names like Stephen Wilkes, Nigel Parry, Andrew Eccles and Danny Clinch to name a few. Amidst these special assignments, he began full time work with architectural and interiors photographer Maxwell Mackenzie, engaging in all aspects of professional photography. It is with the experienced Mackenzie that he learned the full spectrum of business practices, assignment skills and applied lighting and camera work on location. It is from this essential working experience that he moved into his own individual assignment work, with editorial, corporate, institutional and architectural clients. Among those clients are American Diabetes Association, National Restaurant Association, US Postal Service, George Washington University, Syracuse University, RTKL Architects and Dwell Magazine. Michael is not just a full member ASMP professional location photographer. He is genuinely excited to be using his camera to ask, and then visually answer questions concerning the nature of people and place. Those answers take the form of fully realized and articulate photographs that communicate in unexpected ways. From idea to camera work… to assignment organization and client relations… to editing and post production. In other words, he employs a clearly defined visual approach on all levels. This is why Michael is known for his pristine scenes that communicate a sense of clarity around the nature of person or place. He calls it, “Truth Made Visible.”
