How did you get started with photography

I always knew I wanted to be a photographer. I was around 13 years old when I saved all my pocket money and bought a Film SLR camera but it wasn’t until university that I really started to pursue photography. I shot my first paid event in 2008 and haven’t looked back.

What do you love about your job?

“It’s more important to click with people than to click the shutter” (Alfred Stieglitz). What I think it is so important in photography is to connect with my clients and try find out who am I shooting and why. Photography allows me to meet and share a few moments with really interesting people who have their own stories (even if it is only for a few minutes or hours). I love to work with clients to try capture their story or what they need to convey for each project. That’s what I love.

What are some of your favorite places in Sydney to take photographs?

Well this all depends on what the shoot is for! But the Rocks in Sydney is perfect for most projects as there is so much architecture and such a beautiful backdrop of the city to play with. Otherwise, La Perouse also in Sydney has some dramatic land and seascapes that can look great backlit with the afternoon sun or even better at sunrise (for those early risers).
