More about Allison D....

What do you love about your job?

I LOVE seeing people see themselves in a new way. Everyone has insecurities and concerns about the way they look, worried they are not "model material" or "camera friendly." It's my job to make people see themselves the way I do! Everyone is beautiful and photographs capture that beauty. It's a deeper beauty that comes from joy, self-expression, and love. Getting to hear back that people "never know they could look like this" makes all the long hot texas days worth it.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I have done many engagement and couple shoots for friends and family. I try to make every shoot special but for those I always want people laughing, stoic poses are fun occasionally as people love seeing themselves like QG models, but laughter is what brings these types of shoots to life. For every and all shoots I try to do a variety of poses. I really want the client to see a range of their own skill and push their own limits. Things like dancing, dips, lifts and the sort. I want people to feel free and open and I notice that breaking out the dancing always helps a little. :)

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

I won a photography competition in highschool :)

A fun fact about this photographer

During treatment for leukemia when I was younger I went to Big Bend and stayed for a week and climbed 20+ miles the whole trip! I also have a 6th sense for wasps to be able to run away as quickly as possible in the opposite direction.
