Alyssa Brown is a portrait photographer and college student based in Sacramento, California. So far she has taken 5 photography classes in college and has a true passion for storytelling. She loves capturing the genuine moments between couples, grads, and individuals.
I love being creative in my portraits with every lighting/environmental situation I have. I love to use foreground elements to add a pop of color/unique element to my portraits. I also love storytelling and capturing genuine moments of people's emotions in front of the camera.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done individual portrait sessions as well as couples, engagements, and senior/grad sessions. One way I made an engagement session special was by having the couple pose in their cap and gowns too since they were both graduating college at the same time. It's very traditional to see engagement photos where the couples are all dressed up wearing formal clothing, so I thought it was a fun idea that I took many of their engagement photos in their cap and gowns (in addition to regular formal clothing).
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I have had two of my photos printed and displayed at an art gallery at my college in Sacramento. A few of my portraits were also published in my high school's yearbook in 2017.
A fun fact about this photographer
I danced for 11 years of my life throughout grade school and high school. (ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary dance)
