More about Amanda M....

What do you love about your job?

Presence. "Photography is an art of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them." Photography demands you be present and seek beauty in order to visually tell the stories. It offers opportunity to capture others in a light which helps them see how wonderfully they were made and creates appreciation. Photography translates as, "to write with light." What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

My favorite shots are candid so when it comes to family portraits, I'm not your ,"look at the camera and say cheese," kind of photographer. I want to see movement & genuine smiles.

Kids laughing as they stare with awe & wonder at bubbles flying in the air or see watermelon juice dripping down their cheeks and hands as they bite into another slice of it. Anything to break up the head space that what you're actually doing is posing for a photo and instead allow the mind to get lost in the activity while I snap away.

A fun fact about this photographer

I was born in a pink hospital which looks like a giant bottle of Pepto-Bismol was poured all over it.
