Andrew Amani currently lives in Los Angeles, CA and has been a passionate photographer for 10 years. Having grown up in Chicago, he still hold an adoring love affair with his Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks.
His love for photography started during a assignment at UCLA where he had to take a picture of an egg in various lighting scenarios. Getting bored with the assignment rather quickly, he decided to use a sharpy to paint a face on the egg and create a storyboard. From then on, he knew this was going to be a life long passion.

It's hard to explain what drives me or compels me to be a photographer. I just find it fascinating and enjoyable. I love the coming up with brilliant shots, I learn from not getting them, I love to learn everything about the camera and post editing work, I love it all. I don't know how to explain it. I just feel that I have a driving purpose to it. Probably because it allows me to express my creative side and live to my fullest artistic potential.
I've done actor and corporate headshots. What makes them special is the lighting. For the actor, I try to give them a cinematic edge to it. Something that can be translated on the big screen or on a movie poster. For the corporate headshots, I try to help the client reinforce their brand by capturing a professional headshot that tells their potential client, "yes, me."
For my portraits, I love concept art. I love it when an artist delivers something new to the forefront of artistry and that what I try to do in everything I do.
I have received no awards with my photography yet.
I have received other awards for other things I have done. They are:

I am actually a prince. A real prince. My grandmother was part of the Indonesian Royal Family but was excommunicated when she met, fell in love with and married my Grandfather who was a dutch commoner. I've been trying to get in touch with them but they won't return my phone calls.
I grew up on the Northside of Chicago. It wasn't quite the suburbs but it's close enough to still be considered a wussy neighborhood.
To this day, I still hold the record for the most trades made by "New Member" on his first day of trading at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Subsequently, I also hold the record for the most money lost by a "New Member" on his first day of trading.
