Andrew M.

Andrew has been shooting freelance photography for about 5 years now, but he got his start in High School thanks to a film photography class and the advanced photo students who took him under their wing. Although he didn't have his own camera in high school he was able to borrow and eventually keep the Cannon T2I from his teacher. After spending time with his camera and film friends he really started feeling the drive to shoot. Jump forward a year, he realized his friend was really active on Tumblr and had a decent following. They decided to take some pictures and he was eventually contacted by Langly Camera Bags because he had taken photos with their products and those photos where blowing up!Jump forward another year and his passion for photography as well as his passion for music landed him in contact with a company called Rain City Ambiance, who sent him around Seattle photographing concerts. He absolutely loved shooting shows and was really honing in on his individual style so Rain City sent him to Sasquatch 2015 as well as other small events.Beginning in 2016 he really wanted to start mixing things up with his photo style so he decided to dive into fashion and more modeling type photography and has been shooting with professional and amateur models ever since.

More about Andrew M....

What do you love about your job?

As generic as it sounds I love telling stories. I struggle with social interactions and photography is a perfect outlet to express how i feel and how i see the world without saying any words.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I enjoy shooting concerts more then anything. I really enjoy music and the production that goes behind every show. Being able to capture moments on stage when an artist is going really hard on his solo, or when the crowd gets really excited so the band members start smiling and playing louder and harder are really what makes the job worth while. Every band/artist wants to have a moment with their audience and be able to make the crowd happy even while its just during their set and I love to be the one to catch their vibe on camera.
