Average rating of 5.0 out of 5 based on 7 reviews.

Before venturing into commercial photography, Craig attended art school, then proceeded to work as an art director/graphic designer in advertising agencies for quite a while, during which time he won several industry awards for creativity.

After working full-time as an agency art director for nearly two decades, Craig evolved into a freelance art director, then a serious ski bum, then a photo retoucher, and finally a photographer over most of yet another decade.

Six years ago, he hung out a shingle as a full-time photographer and loves his new-found calling.

More about Craig H....

What do you love about your job?

Having the ability to help tell the story of a person, business, place, or something to eat with my right index finger.

While a picture may be worth a thousand words, I believe the real success of a photo occurs when a viewer wants to know a little more about its subject. Also, I love to make ordinary people (not models) look their best.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

Since becoming a professional photographer, I've been hired to shoot a variety of subject matter, with the exception of weddings, which are just not my particular thing.

Whether it's an environmental portrait, business headshot, food, small business, lifestyle, landscape, or product assignment, I make it a point to do as much homework as possible before the shoot. The more I know about the subject beforehand, the more ideas will spin in my brain on the day of the shoot.

(For better or worse, I should also mention that I’ve been labeled a “details maniac” by some, if not many.)

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

Interviewed by the American Society of Media Photographers recently for their "Questions For A Pro" series on their blog. A 5-star overall rating on Google Maps.

A fun fact about this photographer

Yes, I know it's crazy, but I am still a diehard telemark skier.
