My name is Devin Tolman. I am a Photographer, Cinematographer, and Educator, living here in Portland, Oregon. I am an outgoing personality with an adventurous spirit, a strong attention to detail and a passion for the arts! I have been creating images for the last 11 years, specializing in portraiture, narrative story telling, and landscape photography.
I love to create feelings. It's my favorite part of being a photographer! Inspiration is not something you can go out to the store and buy, rather it’s something that’s discovered spontaneously and kept close when found. When I am able to reach out to someone and give them a feeling, even if only for a brief moment, I have given them something very special.
I have done work with people and companies from all over the world. I like to take my time with my subject and work toward making every frame in the session incredible. I do my best to connect with my subjects and seamlessly blend creativity and fun.
A few of my recent accomplishments include being awarded "Best Cinematography" at Portland's Independent Film Festival (2017), having two images receive honorable mention in Popular Photography's annual professional photography contest, as well as, being featured in a solo art exhibit sponsored by Portland's own, Pro Photo Supply.
I enjoy a sport called Fixed Gear Freestyle (FGFS) which involves doing tricks on a fixed gear bicycle. I've been riding those bikes professionally for the last 5 years! It's just so much fun!
