Emerald Boes is a portrait photographer with a passion for creating edgy, artistic portraits. Boes completed her Bachelor's Degree in photography from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2016 and since then has become a full-time freelance photographer. Her experience ranges from owning her own business shooting conceptual model shoots, to traveling the country shooting sporting events, to working with fashion designers and boutique owners creating content for their websites.
I love the feeling that I get from taking a beautifully composed photograph. I've always felt creative, and photography easily became my favorite medium. Creating portraiture became my passion because I loved listening to people's stories, translating their story into a concept, and seeing it through until the end of the shooting and editing process.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have worked with a lot of models for conceptual shoots, and I make them special by connecting with the model and what inspires us both. I always do a lot of research on posing and props to see how to best convey the message of our shoot. Once you find a common ground and a theme, it's easy to get super involved in the shooting process and have fun with it.
