More about Faro Z....

What do you love about your job?

I love the fact that through photography I can express art in a way which I appreciate and is secularly unique to me; when I shoot fashion or portraits, its often the vibe of the shoot that I remember as I often shoot with friends who are models and work in the fashion industry. Just being behind the camera makes me happy and I see it less as work and more as a creative outlet.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I have done literally almost every type of shoot; from family photos, maternity, and engagements to weddings, editorials, menu photos, real estate, and fashion. Since I primarily shoot a lot of food photography for clients like DoorDash and SkiptheDishes I always bring a few extra props like table clothes, cutlery, fake vegetables, etc. to shoots in order to add more variety and give the photos a creative edge; more often than not, many restaurants rehire me just based on that fact as it shows I'm able to adapt and make what would be boring food photos look unique. When it comes to portraits, I work closely with my friends who I've known a while and who are professional models; before every shoot we always discuss a creative direction and develop a concept which I think is a must in order to invoke a meaningful portrait. Of course there are times which we improvise and just wing it and still come up with great results, but I truly believe that the best portraits always have a mood, vibe, and story behind them.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

I was featured in both the Ottawa Wedding Magazine as well as the 2018 Toronto Wedding Showcase. Aside from that I have been feature on Instagram on numerous feature accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers for my street/urban/travel photography

A fun fact about this photographer

I love to read, especially anything by Murakami as well as write; mostly short stories and poems (some of which may or may not have been published, depending on how to deep you look...)
