Graham Morrison is a Southern California based portrait photographer, and the owner/creator of Graham Morrison Photography. His passion for photography started at an early age, and has continued to develop (pun intended) and evolve over the past 15+ years.
With an emphasis in bright colors and a unique styling aesthetic, his photos are a timeless representation of the world as he sees it. Many of his images take place in a nondescript time period that can be described as, “the best of all decades” and takes place in a parallel universe. Some of his greatest photography inspirations are David LaChapelle, Annie Leibovitz, Charlotte Rutherford, and Jill Greenberg.
His direction and positive outlook show through on every shoot, and he prides himself in being able to show every person he photographs in their best light!
I love working with individuals to create a unique and colorful experience that is personally catered to them. Having several aesthetic inspirations allows me to adapt to a wide variety of client's needs, and has helped me evolve and push myself with the way I approach lighting, styling, and editing.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I do a lot of styling for my shoots, and have a wide variety of vintage clothes that I've hand picked to create a unique world for my portraits. Certain movies and television are a major influence for me such Pulp Fiction, Heathers, andTwin Peaks. I love mixing a level of pop-culture and noir to create a vaguely familiar environment that is in fact completely unique.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I was recognized by Creative Loafing Charlotte on their list of "Top 10 Artists to Look For" in 2014
A fun fact about this photographer
I am a huge fan of the Drag world, and I myself do drag on a regular basis. It's another side of my personality that I love bringing to life and transforming into, and there are definitely elements of my Drag persona that make their way into my work (especially when it comes to hair & makeup/styling)
