With more than 20 years of photographic experience, GS Ford has taken a wide gamut of photographs, with many different styles and with many different cameras. After using my father's camera for many years, GS Ford was able to purchase my first camera in high school, when he was apart of the yearbook staff. It was there GS Ford learned my darkroom skills and perfected them when he worked in a photolab, photographing artwork and producing color correct prints. Learning art & design from the Academy of Art and from a local college, GS Ford was able to perfect composition in his photographs. GS Ford's passion for photography ignites whenever he sees the perfect moment, the perfect scene, and says to himself, "this must be photographed." Over the years, GS Ford has pushed the limits of photography and has developed new styles that have been quickly copied by competitors. This has only pushed GS Ford to invent new styles of photography. The perfect photograph happens in the moment and is an amalgam of every element in the scene; it changes constantly, finding and capturing it is a rewarding challenge.
I love "seeing" light and how light reflects and shapes a scene. I love finding perfect composition; sometimes that requires the great location and planning, but when it comes together, the results are amazing images. I love the "Golden Hour" hue of light and prefer shooting 2 hours before sunset to capture this light.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
For portraits, I have used my fashion photography experience to take portrait photography to the next level. This includes every element of photography, including simple edits to the photos. For events, being in the right place, at the right time and capturing the perfect moment, at the right makes all the difference in the world.
