Despite my family's disapproval, photography was the career path I always knew was right for me. I went to college for education per my parent's request but my summer's and free time were all things photography. Photography coupled the two things I love most, creativity, and serving people.
I thrive when interacting with others and photography gives me the platform to not only meet new people regularly but to use my lens to show them how remarkable and unique they are.
I have done many family shoots. I love to capture the inevitable love that each parent has for their child/ children by letting them just play, tickle, chase, throw in the air and get the sweet moments that happen in those interactions. I also always am sure to set time to highlight the unique love and relationship between the parents. I think parents often schedule shoots expecting the kids to be the main focus so I always make it a point to make the parents feel special as well. When it's an engagement shoot I like to give them prompts such as, "ok let me see how many times you can kiss her cheek in the next 30 seconds," or I'll give them a minute to make up a secret handshake. These prompts help me gage into the unique dynamic within their relationship and continue to capture that, build rapport, and move into more intimate photos.
