More about Jordan V....

What do you love about your job?

As a sociologist, I am trained to look for the underlying story or pattern, in order to better understand a culture. I love looking beneath the surface of a shoot and bringing out the deeper narrative. I believe in the intrinsic value of human life, and in the value of the natural world, and it is an absolute joy to have a job that allows me to showcase the beauty in people, places, and the things people create.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I have done a lot of on-site shoots, where special attention to detail is required to bring out the best in a person and their environment. I have also done several styled product shoots, where a careful curation of setting and props can make for a compelling story in a photo-set. What sets me apart from other photographers, is taking the time to get to know a brand and being able to intuitively bring their story to life.

Awards, honors, and recognitions received

I have been selected as a guest host on the hugely successful @instagramtexas account, where I get to showcase my unique perspective on our wildly diverse state.

A fun fact about this photographer

I currently hold the fastest known time for the Outer Mountain Loop in Big Bend National Park. The Outer mountain Loop is a 32 mile loop around the Chisos Basin with 7,500ft of elevation gain/loss, which is a popular backpacking route. I ran the entire loop in 7 hours and 19 minutes which is currently the fastest recorded time on the route. You can see the record at this link:
