More about Karin C....

What do you love about your job?

My ideal shoot is portraiture, where we have the opportunity to make something wonderful happen. Helping people to enjoy the process of being photographed enables me to really capture who they are, their uniqueness. Encouraging people to express who they are physically, emotionally, creatively is a great working space and a privilege for me as a photographer.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

Photography - especially portraiture is about trust. Sitters can be anxious about the outcome. I found discussing the session as a team effort, both wanting the best results and how the sitter felt the best way to get there, helped them to relax. It also made it fun and helped me shoot more effectively and efficiently. The client feeling confident and like they're a big part of the creative process is crucial to their experience.
