My first experience with a camera was forty-five years ago when I was in school. My camera was a film Nikon, which I used to take pictures of my family and friends. I’ve had a real passion for photography since I was a teenager. I read several articles and books in order to understand this beautiful art, know about its history and improve my techniques. I bought my first digital camera in 1994. It was a Nikon with 5 megapixels, which was the most amazing instrument I could have had for taking incredible pictures. Since that day and for more than two decades a digital camera has always been with me. I have had different models of Canon cameras, having today a Canon 5D M3 and a Leica Q as my best companions. Photography is my hobby, and for this reason I’ve always tried to be in permanent contact with all the available information I’ve been able to find in order to improve my knowledge and technique. During the last years, I have read multiple books, and I have assisted to different workshops and technical courses. I’m free today to concentrate on timing and perspective, on quality of light and composition, and once the picture has been taken, I am able to use modern software as lightroom and photoshop to obtain the best possible results.
I love telling stories and capturing scenes that will not happen again. I enjoy the instant when I share the imagens I’ve taken with their protagonists. For me it’s an incredible experience to see the faces of my family members and friends when they see for first time some of my pictures.
I have done portraits of people, and I also have done landscape, wildlife, action, aerial and pet photographs. I make then special enhancing the main subject of the scene. I focus my attention on the main protagonist of the scene at the moment of shooting, and later in post-production I utilize different tools and techniques to improve the details I want to enhance.
Photography has been my hobby for the last forty-five years. I have received several times the immense power of gratitude from my friends and family. However, I haven’t received any awards honors.
I’m from Venezuela, a Caribbean Country in which it’s normal to see people joking and smiling. I was very proud of my long hair when I was a teenager, nowadays I’m a bald man. My shiny scalp is the target of several jokes from my friends. I always smile with resignation and enjoy their occurrences.
