Sara Hewson is experienced in natural light portrait photography with backgrounds in various creative works. She enjoys photographically documenting people and working with her photographic clients to allow playful experiments, bringing out individual expressions for capture.
I enjoy getting to know the people I'm photographing. It's become a positive challenge for me to create a comfortable environment and encourage visual experimentations. Above all else, I cherish the genuine and spontaneous captures where people I'm photographing express themselves.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've photographed food, events, maternity, landscape, real estate, product and interior photography and have decided to continue photographing people as I enjoy working with human forms and delicate expressions the most. However, when I do other types of shoots, which can also be enjoyable, how I made the process special were allowing time and space to experiment visually.

A fun fact about this photographer
My childhood was in Thailand, I lived next to a river and forests. On occasion I would tag along on hunting trips across the river looking for fish, birds, frogs, snakes, bee hives, anything edible with my brother. It was really different growing up there, sometimes the monkeys poke their heads from behind the trees and do their mating calls. I grew up eating foraged bugs, vegetables from the old ladies that foraged and walk by my old place. I left for New Zealand when I was 10. I mostly live in the city now, what I miss the most is the atmosphere when people gathered to share food and stories.
