Skylar Shankman is a Boston based professional photographer who has spent the past five years working with clients all over New England as well as internationally to produce stunning imagery in a wide range of fields. In addition to his fine art and event work portfolios, Skylar has also been hired by some of Boston's largest institutions to create ad campaigns and imagery that has been featured in print, subway ads, and billboards across Massachusetts.
I love the opportunity to create something brand new, that no one has ever seen before. I love that photography captures specific and unique moments in time and that every image is subjective and personal. I've always thought it was amazing that two people can look at the same image and see different things, and even more that what they see can be different from what the photographer intended.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I've done a lot of event work and I always take a non invasive approach. I like to step back and observe the event and capture each moment as it unfolds. In this way I am able to capture things that people don't expect or didn't remember until they see that moment again in my photo.

A fun fact about this photographer
I spent four months during college living in a little town outside of Rome, working as an english teacher. After my term was up I spent the next two months traveling around Europe and North Africa building my first series of travel images.
