For me photography is all about you, and making people happy with images, if the customer is happy, I am happy. Values that are imperative to me are integrity, authenticity, a sense of humour and finding the beauty in any situation. Photography facilitates, my endless curiosity, and this is what I love about it as a job, travelling overseas on jobs can be just as fascinating as family shoot, you never know who you will meet. Exploring new techniques and photographing people in new ways is what keeps me interested in shooting. The next one will be the best image!
People shoots are my favourite as they keep my skills and mind engaged, every face is different and I like to capture character and use light to bring out people's best. Recently I shot a job for a family who was going to loose a loved one, whilst that was upsetting as he is an elite member of society, the family cherished the images as a strong memory of their loved one. Other times I shoot portraits weddings and events and people are overjoyed, often confiding at the end of the shoot that they were so nervous, but it was good experience. I find photography rewarding in this way to make people happy and genuinely improve their self esteem.
My Awards are more client based, such as flagship images for international campaigns for NGO agencies that yielded over a Million dollars, directly changing the lives of people in Outer Mongolia, Cambodia, Jamaica, Peru, and Rwanda. Making emotionally evocative, images that have ethical authenticity is of great value to me. That is the same for work conducted locally.
I am a twin, have Estonian origins. After University I seriously applied for graduate medicine to be an emergency Doctor. I once ate 26 triple ice cream cones on a premium Ice cream shoot.
