Originally from Belarus, I bring a unique blend of attention to details and artistic vision to my photography. While pursuing my engineering degree, I discovered my passion for capturing the world around me. I honed my skills through workshops and educational programs before embarking on a three-year adventure as a photographer on cruise ships, traversing the globe.

Back in Belarus, I transitioned into hard-hitting photojournalism, working for the country's leading daily newspaper, an experience that ignited my dedication to storytelling through powerful imagery.

In 2017, I relocated to Chicago, where I continue to thrive as a freelance photographer. My lens captures everything from breaking news and captivating portraits to impactful features. My work has graced the pages of prestigious publications like The Chicago Sun-Times, The Chicago Tribune, and The Daily Mail (UK), showcasing my versatility and dedication.

Beyond assignments, I'm deeply passionate about personal projects. Several have even culminated in exhibitions and books, allowing me to share my artistic vision with the world.

More about Victor H....

What do you love about your job?

There are two things I truly love about being a photographer. First, it's the ability to capture a moment in time, a fleeting expression, or a scene that tells a story. There's a magic in freezing a piece of life that can evoke emotions and memories for years to come. Second, I love connecting with people through photography. Whether it's capturing a couple's joy on their wedding day or a family's genuine connection during a portrait session, photography allows me to be a part of something special and create something beautiful that they can treasure.

What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?

I've had the pleasure of working on a variety of shoots, from capturing families' moments of joy to showcasing mouthwatering food for restaurants, presidential elections, breaking news and more. For each project, I tailor my approach to bring out the unique personality or essence of the subject. Here are a few examples:
Family Portraits: I love creating a relaxed atmosphere for families, letting the genuine connections shine through. Sometimes, this involves incorporating fun activities or finding a beautiful natural setting that resonates with the family.
Food Photography: I pay close attention to lighting and composition to make the food look incredibly delicious. I might even get creative with props or backdrops to tell a story about the dish.
Ultimately, what makes a shoot special is the connection I build with my clients. By understanding their vision and collaborating with them, I can create photographs that are not only beautiful but also deeply personal and meaningful.

A fun fact about this photographer

I can navigate Chicago's alleyways like a maze master! There's some incredible hidden street art tucked away in those alleys, and I love incorporating it into my photoshoots whenever I can.
Besides I'm an avid cyclist and a big fitness and web3 enthusiast!
