Victoria Andrews is an experienced photographer specialising in fashion and portraiture shoots. She is based within the Gold Coast Hinterland where she has been based as a freelance photographer for the past year. Victoria’s got an array of experience in the following shoots: weddings, newborn, maternity, family, fashion and modelling. Throughout each shoot, she remains friendly and fun whilst being professional and thorough - from start to finish. With an eye for detail, Victoria produces exceptional and unique photographs.
I love interacting with people - I find that creating the perfect pictures to tell a story and capture images is what family/life photography is about. When it comes to fashion photography, I love exploring new ideas and putting them together to create art. Forming new ways to portray ideas and draw attention to photographs. From planning and creating to supplying the finished product - this job is amazing. Seeing the end product is the ultimate reward.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
With my family shoots (weddings, couples, maternity, new born and friends) I always get the subjects to laugh. I keep it light hearted - I get my subjects to talk and really and get to know them - it makes them feel comfortable and it gets both the client and myself those amazing photographs that you cant get with a serious atmosphere. It is as much about the experience as the end product and if the family have a good time - then that will mean those memories come back to them when they look at their photographs.
Awards, honors, and recognitions received
I recently won an Australia day competition - a couple silhouette against a backdrop of an extravagant firework display run by the Gold Coast City Council.
A fun fact about this photographer
When I first came to Australia, I travelled round for 3 months in a 37 year-old camper van spray painted like a zebra. From broken windows to broken engines, its fair to say it wasn't a smooth drive!
