Winslow McCurdy is a Denver-based freelance photographer with 10 years of experience working with a camera. His natural, journalistic style sets him apart from the hoards of pixel-peeping perfectionists. He specializes in events and portraits, but photography is more about capturing that perfect *moment* and that is where Winslow excels. Years of diligent travel photography engrained in him the innate ability to be at the right place at the right time and extract excellent images.
Photography just never feels like a "job" in the traditional sense. No matter the difficulties or obstacles, it is always a fun and rewarding experience from start to finish. There is nothing I love more than a client's reaction to their images "wow these are amazing!" For me, that never gets old.
What types of shoots have you done and how did you make them special?
I have done sessions with professional models that know exactly how to work in front of the camera as well as wild, 10-person families that have never been photographed in their lives. No matter whether the session is portraits or events, I make an effort to connect with my subjects on a personal level in order to eliminate the weight of the camera in my hands. This helps people loosen up, a quality that is immediately identifiable for anyone looking at the photos later. I'm casual and easygoing, and generally don't have a problem getting a few laughs!
