I got started with photography when my dad decided to upgrade his DSLR in 2009. He handed me my first DSLR, the Nikon D50. I easily fell in love and threw myself into vigorous study of light and lenses. I worked to understand how the camera worked and what light could do to change my subject. I eventually decided to work with film to get a better understanding of how a camera functions. My love for photography didn't come to fruition, however, until I went on a school trip to New York in 2011. I fell in love with the colors and lights of the city and some of my favorite photographs are from that trip.
The thing I love the most about photography is the artistry. I love the colors and light, the different ways to work an angle, how every part of it is subjective. Even if 2 photographers took a photo of the same model, it would still be different. For me, my job is seeking out the light and finding something that will make my clients happy. I live to make my subjects smile and laugh naturally during a shoot. That is when I love my job the most.
My favorite place to shoot in Houston is near the Waugh Drive Bat Colony park. It is a long stretch of river and the bridges there allow for a perfect view of the Houston Skyline. Other than that, I love taking photos in NorthShore Park in the Woodlands because there's a long stretch of lake that provides a lovely background for my portraits.SEE PORTFOLIO & BOOK
