Alexander J
San Diego
Canon EOS 5D Mark II; Canon EOS 5D Mark III
After graduating from UCLA my path led to the same destination as many young millennials: broke in their parent’s basement. I spent a solid two years of my post-college networking and experiencing life as a young adult in the tech fueled city of San Francisco. While there, I discovered a passion for cinematography, photography and telling a story through my lens. This led to me shooting various events and concerts where I started touring with DJ’s who were on the cusp of becoming household names. Individuals like Skrillex, Calvin Harris and Diplo. From touring with them, my path led to Miami where I created an award-winning documentary titled No Credentials.

It has been 8 years since I picked up the camera and I don't plan on stopping any time soon! I have worked with professionals all over San Diego to learn anything I can from editing to shadowing, setting up studios or second shooting weddings. I also attended college here in San Diego and achieved Professional photography certification. Just when you think you have seen it all, there is always those special teary eye moments that always gets me in a wedding, or the way a little kid smiles, or the joyful tears of brand new parents- when this happens, the emotion reminds me of why I photograph and it keeps me photographing every day.

Lindsay K
San Diego
Nikon D3S
I am a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College in NYC with a dual major in Photography and Studio Art. I have had numerous internships and opportunities that have only helped me push myself as a photographer and an artist - from being an artist assistant to helping print large scale photographs to be hung in the MoMa, I have been able to experience all sides of the photography business which have helped me find the one that I fit into best. I've worked with people of all ages, sizes, passions, and purposes to create their portraits - from newborns to grandparents, and from dancers to powerlifters. I prefer to capture moments rather than stage them. I prefer to have nature light my photographs rather than electricity. I prefer to bring out the beauty that is in front of me rather than create it in Photoshop. I don't need big productions. There is natural beauty in everything around us, I just help accentuate it through a lens.

Peter C-2
San Diego
Canon EOS 5D Mark III; Canon EOS-1DS Mark II
I fell into photography 4 years ago as I was published while living abroad in Indonesia. I had 'semi-retired' after selling my ownership in a my family's restaurant.I got my start shooting our menu items and staff there. Including skills sets with staff and clients, styling food and people. I think because of my background in a high traffic/profile resatraunt dealing with dynamic public relations my photography career has had a faster arc than usual. I do come from a creative background and have worked rewriting scripts. New endeavors do not make me nervous and I take it as a personal growth method when I can put new clients or people at ease......the karma helps too

Even though I was about ready to pop at 8 months pregnant, Lindsay made me feel and look like a bombshell! I was comfortable with her, and the photos came out so perfect!!! The shoot was fun, and I was so happy with her work, that I booked her to take photos of my newborn.

Tara

Alison is the best photographer we've worked with in San Diego. Aside from taking amazing shots on a consistent basis, she is incredibly professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. We highly recommend her!

Shannon

We are extremely happy with the photos that Vishaka produced for us. It can be challenging to shoot with a three year old and a one year old and she was extremely patient with us. She took many shots and listened to exactly what we wanted while giving us her own creative suggestions.

Chris is a great photographer! Very professional and got my photos back within only a couple weeks. I would highly recommend and work with him again.

How did you get started with photography?

My talent was discovered in 2010 through a photographer friend which asked me to go on a photoshoot with her to help her as an assistant since her intern bailed on her. In 10 min she showed me how to shoot manually and explained what ISO, Aperture and shutter speed is and handed me her second camera to mirror her and help her with her shoot. We did an Engagement shoot by the beach. After the shoot was done and we sat in the car, she asked me to show her what I shot. After seeing my images she had tears in eyes and I thought I did something wrong and ruined and did a horrible job while I really wasnt expecting much from myself. I asked her why are you crying?! She said I cant believe you shot these images! You cant believe how much I pushed myself to do just what you did and you captured these beautiful images without even really knowing what you are doing. I can see if you develop your talent you will be an amazing photographer one day and I can help you if you are interested. Since that day Photography became my life. I spent hours and hours learning my craft. I designed my own website, took photography courses at NEW YORK INSTITUTE OF PHOTOGRAPHY in 2010 and achieved my degree in 2012 . I worked hard to create my own style. Im mostly a self-taught photographer.

What type of shoots do you enjoy doing the most?

I really enjoy doing portrait photography and working with fashion models. Because I have a great sense is styling and fashion and fashion is very fun for me. I am really good at capturing my subjects best facial and body expressions.

What are some of your favorite places in San Diego to take photographs?

San Juan Capistrano, San Diego Balboa park
