How did you get started with photography

I first became seriously interested in photography when I'd bring my camera into concerts. I loved capturing the energy of live performances and having images to relive my experiences. I still love photographing concerts and have captured many of the jazz greats that have come through Seattle.

What do you love about your job?

I love the sense of confidence a great photograph can instill in a person or business. So many people are hesitant to step in front of the camera, thinking they aren't photogenic or 'good looking' enough to be photographed. The fact is, we are all beautiful and have interesting stories that can be told through a great photograph. Helping people discover the best in themselves and their businesses motivates me to keep going!

What are some of your favorite places in Seattle to take photographs?

I love creating images in the old army barracks area of Discovery Park in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle. The open fields and rustic buildings provide lots of opportunities for creativity. I also love the Ballard neighborhood for its older buildings and unique character. A lot of times my clients and I will just walk along the streets and find interesting backgrounds and little nooks where we can create some special images.
