Best Places to Take Senior Portraits in San Diego

Snappr Photographer Lindsay K shares her favorite spots for senior portraits in San Diego!

San Diego is such a wonderful place to live, work, explore, and enjoy life. It is especially great for photography. There are so many wonderful features of this area that make it superior to other parts of the country. Photographers here really have it easy because we get to photograph with backdrops such as beaches, mountains, dessert, woods, and a beautiful city. It's a great place for senior photography because it can really show the world what the subject is about,  and how they grew up before they set off to live their lives, whatever their path may be. It's easy to make your photos glamorous or casual, whatever fits your style. The sunsets in this city make every person look fabulous, so it's best to include them in as many shoots as possible.

Sunset Cliffs

Sunset cliffs is truly a one of a kind location - it's beachy with a beautiful mountainous vibe. And, obviously, its the most gorgeous at sunset! This location in particular has such great lighting that is flattering to all subjects, and its the perfect place to take glamorous yet adventurous senior photos!

Torrey Pines State Park

Torrey Pines is great because of the incredible cliff that juts out into the water. Its rust color gives such an incredible, rich contrast to the blue water of the ocean. The sunsets here are also incredible, and the foliage along the train tracks above the beach are also really fun to work with during a shoot!

Point Loma Lighthouse

I really love this location because it has incredible views. It's also quite different as I feel that it gives off a New England vibe in a southern California location. The lighthouse is a really interesting prop to have in the backgrounds of senior photos because its aesthetic, but still doesn't take away from the focus of the subject! I also really love shooting along the classic white picket fence - which is super glamorous for girls!

Balboa Park

Balboa Park is a classic place for photography - whether its the bridges, the buildings, or the desert or rose garden, there are so many different areas in one location to shoot. It makes for a great photo location because you can get so many looks within just one place! Whether you want nature, architecture, or just something classic, you'll be sure to find it in the park!

La Jolla

La Jolla is known for its beauty! The water, the rocks, and even the homes along the coast are gorgeous! This location gives a very San Diego vibe for seniors that want to show off their beautiful hometown and still feel classy and sharp. There are so many little beaches and coves that make for a really adventurous shoot!

Coronado

Coronado is another world within San Diego. Its peaceful, beachy vibe give a relaxing and aesthetically pleasing location to shoot. From weddings to portraits - Coronado is always a top choice for photographers. The beach is long and spacious, the hotel is intricate and fancy, the streets are fun and make you feel like you're on vacation!
